Construction on the facility will begin this October, with operations expected to start in March 2007.

The 30,000-square-meter facility will be built in Area 2 of Nissan\'s Zama Operations Center, consolidating Nissan\'s global production engineering function in one place. Currently, Nissan\'s vehicle-assembly plants around the world conduct their own trial production and quality analysis of the vehicle body process.

\"The new global production engineering center will focus on drastically improving the quality of new vehicles through the concentrated trial production and quality analysis of new vehicles in all stages of production, from press shop to trim and chassis,\" said Sadao Sekiyama, senior vice president, vehicle engineering production at Nissan. \"This should further enhance vehicle quality levels at Nissan\'s plants in Japan and overseas.\"

The new facility will create 350 new jobs, raising the number of employees involved in production engineering at the Zama Operations Center to 1,280.

A pilot plant for testing equipment for overseas plants, as well as a warehouse for historic vehicles and other facilities located in Area 1 will be transferred to Area 2.

Following the transfer of these operations to Area 2, about half of the land at the 21,000-square-meter Area 1 will be sold to Vantec Corporation. Vantec distributes parts for vehicle production in Area 2.

The new global production engineering facility is being built as Nissan executes a record 70 production launches around the world under its new mid-term business plan, Nissan Value-Up, which began in April. As previously announced, Nissan plans to release 28 all-new models during Value-Up, boosting global sales to 4.2 million units in fiscal year 2008.

Nissan\'s Zama Operations Center, which covers a total area of 770,000 square meters, was a major Nissan vehicle-assembly plant from 1965 to 1995, producing a total of 11.24 million passenger cars and light trucks during that time. Since 1995, the center has mainly been involved in production engineering. In December 1998, Nissan established Carest Zama, a large-scale auto mall and an auction site for used cars in Area 1.
Nissan Production, Sales and Export Results for July 2005

TOKYO (Aug. 26, 2005) - Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., today announced production, sales and export figures for July.

Production
Global production in July increased 1.6% compared with the same month a year earlier to 278,910 units.

Production in Japan fell 8.7% to 122,575 units due to one less working day compared with last year, as well as the start of local production of the Pathfinder sport utility vehicle in the U.S. and the Navara pickup truck in Spain.

Overseas production in July increased 11.4% to 156,335 units.

In the U.S., output declined 2.7% to 47,384 units due to a decrease in the production of the Altima mid-sized sedan.

In Mexico, production increased 2.1% to 26,623 units.

In Europe, output in the U.K. decreased 4.6% to 30,587 units, while output in Spain grew 32.1% to 20,143 units. The commitments are:
· to maintain the top level of operating profit margin among global automakers for each of the three years of the plan;
· to achieve global sales of 4.2 million units, measured in fiscal year 2008; and
· to achieve a 20% return on invested capital on average over the course of the plan, excluding cash on hand.

“The story of Nissan’s revival is now complete,” said Ghosn. “NISSAN Value-Up is a clear plan with specific commitments. Within this framework for action, we will create more value for more customers, employees and shareholders in more world markets than ever before.”

Under the plan, Nissan will expand its worldwide presence, and Infiniti will be launched as a global tier-one luxury brand. Currently marketed in North America, Taiwan and the Middle East, Infiniti will be expanded to Korea, China and Russia.

Through the end of fiscal year 2007, 28 all-new Nissan and Infiniti models will be launched globally.

Other FY04 financial highlights:
Indebtedness
Nissan’s net automotive debt has been eliminated. Nissan had 205.8 billion yen (US $1.91 billion, euro 1.53 billion) in cash at the close of fiscal year 2004.

Dividend
As previously announced, Nissan will propose a 12-yen-per-share year-end dividend at the company’s annual general shareholders meeting on June 21, 2005, for a full-year dividend of 24 yen per share for fiscal year 2004.

Outlook for FY05:
Business risks include volatility in foreign exchange rates, higher commodity prices, higher interest rates, higher energy prices, and uncertainty about the levels of growth in the U.S. and Japanese markets. Opportunities lie in the accelerated implementation of NISSAN Value-Up.

FY05 forecast:
Based on this outlook and assuming foreign exchange rates of 105 yen/dollar and 130 yen/euro, Nissan filed the following forecast for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2006, with the Tokyo Stock Exchange:
· consolidated net revenues of 9 trillion yen;
· operating profit of 870 billion yen;
· ordinary profit of 860 billion yen; and
· net income of 517 billion yen.

Note: Amounts in dollars and euros are translated for the convenience of the reader only at the foreign exchange rates of 107.6 yen/dollar and 134.4 yen/euro, the average rates for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2005.

Nissan Begins Production, Sales of Pickup in Egypt

Cairo - Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., today announced the start of production and sales of the Pickup commercial vehicle in Egypt. As the first model to be produced and sold under Nissan’s direct management in Egypt, the Pickup marks the start of the company’s plan to establish Egypt as an automotive industrial base for the Middle East and North Africa.

\"We are excited to begin our operations in Egypt with the Pickup,\" said Shoichi Miyatani, Nissan vice president in charge of marketing and sales for the Middle East, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean. “This model is ideally suited to local customers and will contribute to enhancing Nissan’s presence in this market. From this base, we believe we have great potential for future growth, not only in Egypt, but throughout this region.”

Miyatani added that the expansion of Egyptian operations supports Nissan’s performance under its new three-year business plan, NISSAN Value-Up. Under the plan, which began on April 1, Nissan aims to grow its global sales to 4.2 million units, maintain a top-level operating profit margin among global automakers and maintain a 20% return on invested capital.

The Pickup is being built at Nissan’s expanded and refurbished manufacturing plant at 6th October Industrial City, 40 kilometers west of Cairo. Sales began early April. Nissan plans to add more models to its production lineup in the future, including passenger cars and sport utility vehicles.

Nissan has also started importing the new 1.6-liter Sunny sedan from Japan for the local market. In the summer, Nissan will also begin imports of its popular X-TRAIL sport utility vehicle. Nissan’s imports for Egypt are handled by Nissan Import Egypt, Ltd. (NIEL), a newly established subsidiary. Sales are being handled through Nissan Marketing & Distribution Egypt, S.A.E. (NMDE), also a newly established company. On June 28, 2004, Nissan announced it would take direct control of its manufacturing operations in Egypt by investing $60 million to buy out the manufacturing facility at 6th October Industrial City, refurbish and expand the plant, and enhance its sales, marketing and distribution operations in Egypt.

The newly refurbished plant at 6th October Industrial City has an annual capacity of 17,000 units per year. All of its facilities -- including the body, paint, and trim and chassis operations -- have been upgraded. The plant employs 245 people.

By 2010, Nissan’s investment in Egypt is expected to rise to more than $100 million as the company expands its operations in the country.
Nissan Production, Sales and Export Results for February

Tokyo -- Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., today released production, sales and export results for February. In the first nine months, net consolidated revenue rose 13.5%, compared with the same period in the previous year, to 6.099 trillion yen (US $56.22 billion, euro 45.69 billion) due to robust sales in the U.S. and a continuous improvement in European operations.

Nissan\'s operating profit from April to December totaled 612.1 billion yen (US $5.64 billion, euro 4.59 billion), up 2.1% from the same period last year, while its operating profit margin came to 10.0%. It combines traditional SUV values - and a serious off-road ability - with futuristic, sporty styling that marks it out as something different.

Retaining the traditional design cues of an SUV, the Zaroot\'s appearance is squared-off, solid and tough looking. It implies strength and security - yet combines these familiar themes with something a little different - a pair of gullwing doors.

The doors dominate Zaroot\'s profile, extending from the A-pillar to the rear of the passenger compartment, effectively where the C-pillar would be in a conventional vehicle. There is no B-pillar.

If the pentagonal doors define the character of Zaroot, the \'arch graphic\' roof line continues a design theme that has featured on virtually all recent Nissan\'s design concepts. Together they bring increased sporting prowess to an area of the market which hitherto has been seen as little more than utilitarian.

Front and rear styling also adds a futuristic twist to a conventional shape. Zaroot\'s bluff nose ensures minimum front overhangs and incorporates Nissan\'s now familiar angle strut grille, though the unusual vertical headlamp cluster brings an almost technical feel to Zaroot\'s \'face\'.

Navara
Europe\'s growing market for pick up trucks has a brand new contender - the Nissan Navara Double Cab. Being given its European debut at the 2005 Geneva Motor Show, Navara has a tough act to follow: the market-leading Nissan Pickup.

The new Navara brings passenger car qualities to the utility market. It shares much of its mechanical layout with Nissan\'s new SUV, the Pathfinder. It also adopts many of the comfort features found in Nissan\'s latest SUV and is built side-by-side with the SUV at Nissan\'s NMISA plant in Barcelona, Spain.

And, like its predecessor, it benefits from a tried and trusted four-wheel drive system to ensure grip under all conditions: little wonder that the Pickup was such a favourite with the farming and construction industries.

While those traditional Pickup buyers are expected to appreciate Navara\'s \'go anywhere, do anything\' qualities, the newcomer\'s higher levels of comfort, quality and refinement is expected to attract leisure users who can use the combination of four-wheel drive and a versatile load area to go skiing or snowboarding in the winter and sailing or windsurfing in the summer.

Like Pathfinder, Navara features a rugged ladder-frame chassis onto which the body is securely fixed. Navara has a refined independent front suspension system featuring double wishbones and coil springs. This is teamed with a rigid axle and over slung leaf springs at the rear, designed to provide the best possible payload levels without adversely affecting handling or comfort.

Like Pathfinder, Navara\'s power comes from Nissan\'s respected 2.5-litre YD series four-cylinder turbo diesel engine, which has been extensively modified for the new models. It now features second-generation common rail technology for lower emissions, a variable nozzle turbocharger providing more power and lower emissions and there\'s a new balancer system for greater refinement.

For Navara, it is available in two different states of tune. The most potent develops 174PS and, more significantly, an impressive 403Nm of torque. The lesser powered Navara still has 145PS and 356Nm of torque.

Navara\'s four-wheel drive system uses Nissan\'s proven part-time 4WD system which provides drive to the rear wheels under normal conditions or a 50/50 torque split to all four wheels when 4WD mode is engaged.

\"During its time on sale, the Nissan Pickup earned itself a strong reputation as an honest, hard working vehicle. Navara builds on Pickup\'s strengths and adds new levels of ability, refinement and fun,\" says Brian Carolin, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Nissan Europe. \"We are confident that Navara will appeal to an ever wider customer base than Pickup achieved. It is just as happy as a hard-working, tough load carrier, or as a means to pursue leisure activities.\"

Pathfinder
European sales of Nissan\'s new 4x4 SUV, the Pathfinder, will coincide with the Geneva Motor Show and it will strengthen Nissan\'s position as a leader in the 4x4 market. It is built in Nissan\'s factory in Barcelona, Spain.

Powered by a 2.5-litre high output turbo diesel which produces 128kW (174PS) and 403Nm of torque, the Pathfinder allows active people the opportunity to pursue their hobbies and busy lifestyles. Its interior combines extreme practicality with roomy convenience. There are 64 different seating configurations, thanks to three rows of seats which can be individually folded flat to accommodate loads up to 280cm long. There are many different storage areas and even with the third row of seats in place, luggage space is impressive.

The Pathfinder employs an enhanced version of the electronically controlled ALL MODE 4x4 system found on the X-TRAIL, giving the driver 2WD, Auto, 4Hi Lock and 4LO modes to cope with the prevailing levels of traction.

Pathfinder will be available with many features which are usually found on highly specified passenger cars. Among those available, there are Intelligent Key, Xenon headlamps, satellite navigation with Traffic Management Channel, Blue Tooth telephone system with voice recognition, leather upholstery, dual zone climate control in the front and air conditioning in the rear, an opening tailgate window and even an automatically dipping rear view mirror and rain sensing windscreen wipers.

350Z Roadster
Deliveries of the 350Z Roadster will begin in Europe in March, which is good news for enthusiasts looking to combine the enjoyment of Nissan\'s highly acclaimed 350Z with the added sensation and emotion only available from a soft top.

The Roadster will provide its owner with the thrills and sensations that can only come from driving a performance convertible.

With the roof open, the driver and passenger are treated to a stimulation of the senses. They will enjoy hearing the sporty sound of the engine intake and the exhaust, both of which have been tuned for aural pleasure. These sounds enhance the feeling of acceleration, while the wind-in-the-hair feeling also adds to the overall experience.

Nissan has engineered the Roadster to ensure the structural rigidity of the Coupe is carried over. This would increase the plant\'s total annual volume to around 400,000 units - strengthening Sunderland\'s position as the UK\'s biggest car plant.

During the event Nissan also unveiled its new Navara Crew Cab pick-up and the Zaroot concept SUV which will be unveiled to the public at the Geneva Motor Show on March 1. Nissan also showed a production-ready version of its Pathfinder SUV which is due to go on sale in March.
As well as the Tone, the P32L will join Nissan\'s Micra, Micra C+C and the Primera on the Sunderland production lines which build around 320,000 vehicles a year and is recognised as Europe\'s most efficient car factory.
\"Today\'s announcement is a tremendous vote of confidence in our workforce,\" said Dodge. \"Production of the P32L is a good decision for the company given our employees\' track record of handling the complexities of manufacturing multiple vehicles. It will be a challenge to integrate this all-new model into our product mix, along with our upcoming model changes. But this is the sort of challenge any car plant would welcome and I know the workforce will be looking forward to next year and the start of production.\"

Nissan believes the new model will fill a growing niche in the car market for vehicles designed to live a dual life. Qashqai, pronounced \"Cash-Ky\" is aimed at young professional people who enjoy living and working in the city during the week but who want to escape at the weekend.
Nissan Design Europe (NDE), which was responsible for designing Qashqai, is one of the company\'s design \'think-tanks\' dedicated to developing future generations of advanced designs for European markets. It combines the sleek lines of a sporting hatchback with the attitude and authenticity of a serious 4x4.
NMUK currently employs around 4,100 workers, capable of producing up to 500,000 units per year based on a three-shift system.
Nissan Production, Sales and Export Results for December and CY 2004

Tokyo -- Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., today released production, sales and export figures for December 2004 and calendar year 2004.

2004 Production
Nissan produced a record number of vehicles in 2004, with global production rising 8.0% compared with the previous year to 3,194,119 units.

In Japan, production dropped 2.2% to 1,439,007 units after Nissan suspended output at three of its four vehicle assembly plants due to a temporary steel shortage.
